ipod touch a go-go!

Since some generous sort has won my Creative Zen Vision:M on the Kiwi equivalent of Fleabay, I have now managed to track down an Apple iPod Touch 8GB to replace it, on US Ebay however, not on TradeMe.

The thing that appeals - contrary to my insistence until now that I'd never buy one cos ALL Apple iPods are over-rated - is the whole interface combined with wireless combined with 3.5" high-def widescreen display. Plus you can hack the thing to get all sorts of opensource apps onto it, which again appeals. They've gotten over the initial bugs with the screen that affected a few of the early ones, so that's not a worry.

The only downsides I can see are:

a. 8GB of memory ain't much, meaning you gonna have to take things off before you put more on, and
b. It requires the 'dreaded' iTunes software, which is a PITA (need help with acronyms?) but apparently you can control the sync process manually, so not a complete loss.
