Trying to figure out at the moment if I can afford and manage to put together a micro PC to act as a home movie system. Ideally going to house everything in a small enclosure, that should look kinda smart too (that way there's a chance SWMBO won't object too much!).
Technically speaking it'll need about 500GB IDE, reasonable chipset, a TV tuner card, DVD/CD ROM drive, sound card and a nice quiet fan. Probably worth giving it a wireless network card too I suppose.
Thing is, going this route rather than just getting a PVR means ultimate flexibility as well as networking ability and maintainability.
At least that's what I reckon... not that I can afford to do it right now.
And typical I should think of this once most of the RWC is already over!
